About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for a small business multiple award construction contract. The amendment provides additional points of contact, liquidated damages details, and site visit information. The solicitation is for design-build renovation work at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, to modernize the building entrance, common areas, and patient relations spaces. The estimated price range for the project is $10-25 million, with a 533-day period of performance. A wage determination applies and record shop drawings are required. A bid guarantee of 20% or $3 million is due with offers. The site visit is scheduled for October 18, 2023, and registration is due by October 16.
The amendment adds two points of contact for questions and provides liquidated damages based on the base price and any exercised options. It details utilities availability, bond requirements, and a guaranteed minimum $5,000 award for each offeror under any resulting multiple award contracts. It also specifies registration requirements for the mandatory site visit.
