SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
This amendment provides the answers to remaining pre-award RFI’s received after posting of Amendment 0006.
1.
AHU-1 VAV controllers are fairly new, do you want to reuse them or demo them and replace with new, since we did the original project it would be pretty easy to do, I would also still give you the warranty on the reused ones, as if they were new. It would save some money to reuse what we can.
Government response: Reusing the existing VAV box controllers suggested in this RFI sounds reasonable. They are relatively new and the Government will get the warranty but this is ultimately Government’s call as they are shown as new in our design. The contractor should give credit back to the Government. If the Government decides to replace with new (as shown in our design), the removed controllers can be turned over to the Government for use as spare parts.
2.
I’m assuming that the CRAC unit will come with a BACnet interface?
Government response: The CRAC unit will be provided with self-contained, packaged controls and a BACnet interface as specified in Section 23 81 00. At a minimum, space temperature and humidity sensors shall be directly connected to the BAS for monitoring of space conditions as shown on Detail B1/M-802.
3.
All VFD’s should also have BACnet cards. We can supply Schneider-Electric VFD’s (with startup) if that would be preferred. They worked well in the B1580 project.
Government response: The VFDs are listed under Div. 262923. Schneider Electric VFDs would be acceptable as long as they meet the requirements in the contract documents. Coordinate submittal information and other requirements with other trades as necessary.
