About this file

This document contains test procedures for the NAVAIR 0330ACR2 inducer valve. The test procedures outline how to test the valve using a test circuit or equivalent. Step-by-step instructions are provided for opening and closing the valve using the test circuit to energize specific pins on the valve connector from a 115V 400Hz single phase power source. Motor current, continuity checks, leakage tests, and troubleshooting procedures are described. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number M6700123Q1154 for a pre-check test stand from the United States Marine Corps. The document provides technical specifications for an inducer valve and indicates it relates to a solicitation for a test stand from the Marine Corps.

NAVAIR 03−30ACR−2

8. TEST PROCEDURE.

Ensure pin C of test circuit and casing of unit under test are properly grounded.

Failure to ensure proper grounding of valve casing could create an electrical shock hazard.

a. Fabricate test circuit or equivalent as shown in figure 4. Connect test circuit mating connector to valve.

b. Apply air at 120 psig to inlet port. Using test circuit, energize pin A of connector (18) from a 115 volts, single−phase, 400 cycle, ac power source. The output shaft shall rotate clockwise, opening the valve within 5 to 7 seconds. The indicator on plate (2) shall indicate OPEN. Motor current shall not exceed 0.35 amperes during operation. Check for continuity between pins A and D.

NOTE

If high voltage is found across connector pins D and C, replace clockwise limit switch and repeat step b.

c. Using test circuit, energize pin B. The output shaft shall rotate counterclockwise, closing the valve within 5 to 7 seconds. The indicator on plate (2) shall indicate CLOSED. Motor current shall not exceed 0.35 amperes during operation. Check for continuity between pins B and E.

NOTE

If high voltage is found across connector pins E and C, replace counter−clockwise limit switch and repeat step c.

d. Open valve, remove power, and disconnect connector from valve. Check for continuity between pins A and D. Resistance should be less than 1 ohm. Check for continuity between pins B and E.

Resistance should be infinity. Reconnect connector to valve, apply power, and close valve. Remove power and disconnect connector from valve. Check for continuity between pins A and D. Resistance should be infinity. Check for continuity between pins B and E. Resistance should be less than 1 ohm.

e. With valve closed, apply air at 120 psig to inlet port. Internal leakage shall not exceed 0.25 cubic feet per minute.

f. In case of unit malfunction, consult Table 1 for cause and remedial action.
