About this file
This is an Interior Inspection Report for the Kenton County Airport Board's South Glycol Pump Station II West 125 tank located in Hebron, Kentucky. The inspection was conducted on August 7, 2023, by Gregory Charles Hardig Sr., a NACE Certified Coating Inspector Level-3, and commissioned by Scott Thacker, Sr. Manager Environmental Operations at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The inspection identified two repairs within the West 125 tank: a 2-inch repair at a precast joint on the south side east end, and a 12-inch repair at the third seam from the east end on the north side. Both repairs were completed using industry-standard preparation methods including braided wire wheel preparation, denatured alcohol cleaning, CIM surface conditioner application, and trowel-grade CIM application. The tank was deemed safe for entry using a 5-gas air monitor and was ready to return to service upon completion of repairs.
The report documents work performed under what appears to be preparation for or execution of the Kenton County Airport Board's broader "Tank Inspections & Repairs & On-Call Services" contract opportunity, with questions due May 11, 2026, and bids required by May 21, 2026, at 2:00 pm. The inspection was conducted by Corrosion Protection Resources LLC, with the inspector's certification expiring in April 2025. The report includes photographic documentation of the inspection and repair work, though specific pricing information, contract terms, and financial details are not contained within this inspection document itself.

General:
The plan for the day is to inspect the General condition of the South Glycol Pump Station II West 125 tank Interior repairs.
With JSA and a meaningful discussion on safety complete, we are using a 5x gas air monitor to find the tank safe for entry.
In the west tank there were two repairs identified. The First was about 2” long where the boot bridges the two precast joints on the south side east end joint.
The joint was prepared using a braided wire wheel, then wiped clean with denatured alcohol. Then the CIM surface conditioner was applied. The trowel grade CIM was mixed and applied.
The second spot is located at the third seam from the east end on the north side and is about 12” long.
Repair Completed
Summary:
The West 125 tank two spots were repaired and ready to return to service.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Respectfully submitted.
