About this file
This document is a badge request form and instructions for contractors seeking access to the Savannah River Site (SRS), a Department of Energy facility managed by the Forest Service. The document provides detailed requirements for obtaining site access, including badging procedures, identification document specifications, and prohibited articles. Key details include submission timelines (subcontractor badge requests require at least 2 weeks prior notice, visitor badge requests need 5 days advance notice), and comprehensive identification requirements involving presenting either a U.S. passport, REAL ID-compliant driver's license, enhanced driver's license, HSPD-12 PIV Card, or Department of Defense Common Access Card.
The badge request process involves completing an online form, presenting appropriate identification documents, and undergoing General Employee Training (GET). Strict rules govern badge issuance and return, with potential Site Access Authorization Denial (SAAD) for failure to return badges within two weeks of site access termination. The document also extensively lists prohibited items on the site, including firearms, weapons, recreational vehicles, unmanned aerial systems, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and various tools and personal items not required for job performance. Badge office hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m., with a daily closure from 11:15 a.m. to noon, and the facility uses a "Waitwhile" queuing system for badge processing.
