About this file

This is a Local Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, related to Inspection and Testing of Aerial Devices and Ground Ladders (IFB 7800 MAS1013). The form is designed to encourage local businesses to participate in City solicitations by providing a preference to qualified vendors. Offerors meeting the defined criteria are encouraged to complete and submit this optional form with their bid response. The City defines a Local Business as any person or corporate entity with headquarters located within the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. Participation in the local preference program is voluntary and not required to respond to the solicitation.

To qualify for local business preference consideration, offerors must certify their physical headquarters address and confirm that either the location of the entity's owners or leadership or the entity's administrative center is situated within the defined Greater Austin area. The City reserves the right to request additional information to verify an offeror's headquarters location using resources such as FFIEC GeoMap and the Texas CPA database. Misrepresentation of headquarters information may result in withholding available preference, disqualification from the resulting contract if determined to be intentional, or contract voidance if discovered after award. Local Business Preference may not be allowable in solicitations subject to federal funding.

Note: Local Business Preference may not be allowable, and will not be provided, in solicitations subject to federal funding.

1. Instructions. Offerors meeting the following criteria (both) are encouraged to complete this form and include it with their Offer. Participation in this program or completion of this form is not required to respond to this solicitation.

A. Local Business. The City defines a Local Business as any person or corporate entity with Headquarters located within the Local Area.
