About this file
This is a Living Wage Submittal document for the City of Austin, Texas, establishing wage requirements and certification procedures for contractors bidding on IFB 7800 MAS1007REBID for OEM Parts & Repairs for Chevy Light and Medium Duty Vehicles. The document outlines the City's Living Wage Program requirements under Rule R161-17.14, which mandates that all contractor employees and subcontractors directly assigned to the contract be compensated at a minimum rate of $22.05 per hour. Contractors must submit a comprehensive certification with their offer that lists all employees and subcontractors assigned to the contract, including their names and job titles, with this list subject to updates throughout the contract term. Individual employee certifications must be provided to the City Contract Manager within 30 days of contract execution, and annual recertification is required on the anniversary date of contract execution to verify ongoing compliance with living wage standards.
The contractor is required to maintain basic employment and wage information for each employee as mandated by the Fair Labor Standards Act and must allow the City Contract Manager to periodically review submitted employee data and access employee records to verify compliance. Violations of the living wage provision, including willful or repeated non-compliance or fraudulent statements on certification forms, may result in contract termination for cause, suspension or debarment of the contractor, or legal action. The contractor must also certify that it will not retaliate against employees claiming non-compliance and that any deficiency in wages must be paid retroactively for each day the violation continues. The certification form requires signature by an authorized officer or representative of the contracting firm.
