About this file

This is a Living Wage Submittal document for the City of Austin, Texas, establishing wage requirements under Rule R161-17.14 for a Compressor and Vacuum Maintenance and Repair contract. The contract requires all prime contractor and subcontractor employees directly assigned to the work to be compensated at a minimum living wage of $22.05 per hour. Contractors must submit a certification with their offer listing all employees and their job titles assigned to the contract, with the list subject to updates as necessary throughout the contract term. Individual employee certifications must be provided within 30 days of contract execution and annually thereafter on the contract anniversary date. The City reserves the right to review employee records and conduct periodic compliance audits to verify wage payment adherence.

The contractor must maintain basic employment and wage information for each employee as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and certify that all future employees will be paid the minimum living wage of $22.05 per hour. The contractor further certifies that it will not retaliate against employees claiming non-compliance with the living wage provision. Violations of this requirement obligate the contractor to pay affected employees the wage deficiency for each day the violation continues. Willful or repeated violations, fraudulent statements on the certification, or non-compliance may result in contract termination for cause, suspension or debarment of the violating firm, or legal action.
