About this file
Summary of IFB_260178_Plans.pdf
This document comprises a comprehensive set of construction plans prepared by AECOM USA, Inc. for the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility/Engineering Division in partnership with the University of Arizona. The project encompasses improvements to the UA Maintenance Road from James E. Rogers Way to the Harshbarger Pathway and improvements to Olive Road from 2nd Street to an alleyway approximately 250 feet north of 2nd Street. The scope of work includes construction of a shared-use path, pavement replacement, new concrete curbs and sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, traffic control measures, pavement markings, and street lighting. The project is divided into multiple construction sections with varying pavement structural specifications, including removal of existing pavement and concrete elements totaling approximately 2,207 linear feet and 1,747 square yards. The plans contain detailed specifications for materials and workmanship in accordance with Pima Association of Governments Standard Specifications and UA Design Standards, with specific requirements for ADA compliance, utility coordination through AZ811 Blue Stake notification, and landscape protection protocols.
The plans specify multiple standard details including concrete curb installations, access ramp construction per COT Detail 207, vertical curb cuts, and AC berm work. Traffic control requirements conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices with mandatory barricade plan submission 48 hours prior to work in public right-of-way. The signing and pavement marking plans include approximately 28 new traffic signs with varying specifications for materials and mounting, high-visibility crosswalk installations in Portland Green, bike route markings, and pedestrian advisory signage. Street lighting improvements include installation of new luminaire mast arms and electrical conduit connections to existing OCS poles. The project utilizes Federal Highway Administration funding, and all contractor work must comply with FHWA-required terms and conditions. Horizontal control is based on NAD 83 Arizona State Plane Coordinate System with vertical datum established at NAVD88, with the project signed and certified by Professional Civil Engineer Thomas W. Wolf on December 15, 2025, for Plan No. U-2023-023.
