About this file

This is a Small Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, related to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Water Softeners Service Maintenance. The City of Austin seeks to establish a contract with a contractor experienced in installation, maintenance, and repair services for commercial water softener systems utilized by Austin Water. The submittal form is optional and allows offerors to voluntarily identify themselves as recognized small businesses to receive procurement preference incentives. Participation in the Small Business Preference Program is not mandatory to respond to the solicitation.

The Small Business Preference Program recognizes two categories of eligible offerors: Small Business Primes, which are small businesses themselves and may receive full preference, and Small Business Subs, which are non-small business prime contractors that include one or more small business subcontractors and may receive partial preference if combined small business subcontracting values meet or exceed 5 percent of the total contract amount. The City recognizes small business certifications that comply with the US Small Business Administration's Small Business Size Standards. Offerors must provide certification information including the certifying entity name, certification number, and expiration date. The City reserves the right to verify certification status and may withhold preference, disqualify offerors, or void contracts if misrepresentation is discovered. Offerors electing not to participate as a small business may submit a subcontracting plan with no Minority Business Enterprise or Women Business Enterprise goals.
