About this file

This is an Employer Certification document for the City of Austin's Wage Theft Ordinance compliance requirement, applicable to all employers submitting offers for City of Austin contracts. The certification mandates that any employer seeking contract award from the City must verify they have not been adjudicated for wage theft-related offenses as defined in Austin City Code Chapter 4, Section 4-22-1 (G) and (H) within five years prior to contract submission. All employers awarded contracts with the City are required to complete the City of Austin Wage Theft Training within 30 days of contract award. The document serves as the responsibility criteria attestation that firms must execute and submit prior to contract award for the Capacitor Banks and Associated Parts contract supporting Austin Energy's electrical distribution system maintenance, repair, and operations.

The certification requires an authorized representative of the firm to sign under penalty of perjury, confirming that the employer has not been adjudicated for wage theft and agrees to comply with the provisions outlined in Austin City Code Section 4-22-5 (B) and Section 4-22-6 (A). The document mandates completion of the full legal entity name, authorized person's signature, printed name and title, location and date of certification, and originating jurisdiction. Questions or additional information regarding the wage theft certification program should be directed to the City of Austin Wage Compliance Team at wagetheft@austintexas.gov.
