TITLE:
QUESTION:
Per section L.9.3.1 (b) we are to provide an electronic copy of section B with our bid. Is it possible to submit section B on 11-21-11 by 11:00 am pst via e-mail and then follow up with hard copies (sent fed-ex the same day for delivery on 11-22-11) for section L.9.3.1 (a).
RESPONSE:
We recognize the challenge posed by cross-country mailing of Sections A-M. But using overnight express mail should eliminate and possibility of late delivery. We have endeavored to promptly answer all offeror questions so that the completion of your Price Proposals (Sects A-M) can be submitted and received by the deadline of 1100 11/21/11.
If the Price Proposal is signed for at BSU Seattle prior to that deadline, SFLC will consider it to have been received timely.

1 paragraph 3.2 thru 3.3
TITLE: Hull plating (Side Scan) Ultrasonic Testing
QUESTION:
I have contacted several companies that regularly accomplish our UT testing of the hulls of vessels.
None have this equipment nor have they heard much about it. They say it is experimental and no one can get it or much less knows how to use it.
Does the USCG have a source for this work. If so please forward it the bidders. We do not know how to price out this work item. Maybe the USCG should have this done by a govt. supplied subcontractor.
RESPONSE:
This procedure is not experimental and has been completed many times over the last several years.
The CG has had this same work completed twice in the past year by two Contractors: St John’s Ship Building (Palatka, FL) and ANA Shipyard (Portsmouth, VA). Recommend you contact one of these contractors for assistance in locating a sub-contractor. Another source may be Gladd Solutions.
