SOLICITATION SECTION: PARA NO.
WORK ITEM NO. 23 Ballast tanks PARA NO.
If at all possible have the vessel have the ballast tanks open so we can look inside them to ascertain the condition of the tanks.
Opening the tanks for inspection is not possible. This actually is the purpose of including the various optional work items in the solicitation schedule. But beyond that, the CG is not permitted by law to gas fee and make safe for entry any tanks or voids for other than CG personnel.
We appreciate your interest in performing as complete a shipcheck as possible, but we cannot accommodate your request.
