About this file
This document contains a job plan and safety requirements for conducting internal inspections of an aboveground fuel oil storage tank located at the Pentagon Heating and Refrigeration Plant in accordance with API Standard 653 every ten years. The job plan outlines the notification process, safety requirements, inspection procedures including visual, ultrasonic, and liquid penetrant testing of the tank bottom, shell and roof to assess minimum thickness and corrosion rates. It also specifies procedures for settlement evaluations, water washing and cleaning of the tank interior, mechanical cleaning equipment inspections, and contact ultrasonic thickness measurements of the tank bottom. Upon completion of the inspection and testing, the contractor must provide all required documentation and obtain quality assurance sign off from the plant shift supervisor before demobilizing.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation issued by the DOD Washington Headquarters Service to provide preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance, service calls, and inspections for the equipment and systems at the Pentagon Heating and Refrigeration Plant, including the aboveground fuel oil storage tanks. The contractor will be responsible for quality work performance and partnering with the customer to continuously improve programs and services.
