SUMMARY OF DIFFERENCES
The course title for A-431-0136 ("Navy Free Fall Parachutist") has been changed to "Navy Parachute Free Fall Course" for this Revision.
The FF-2 Hite Finder lesson and equipment are obsolete and have been replaced with the Cypres 2. The water jump lesson and practical application have been deleted due to time constraints with drying the equipment and the availability of support equipment.
Class covenings decreased from 11 to eight. The reduction in number of convenings occurred because the annual throughput requirement has remained at 560, and only eight convenings are required to meet that annual requirement.

COURSE DATA (CONT.)
(NAVSPECWARCOM). The Navy Parachute Free Fall Course was developed to meet the operational requirement for tactical air insertion of all Navy SEALs, selected SWCC, who are part of a Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Maritime Craft Aerial Delivery System (MCADS) detachment and selected Navy EOD who will train with and deploy as part of an NSW squadron. This also includes Joint SOF from USASOC, AFSOC, and MARSOC. This course is not authorized/approved for Non-SOF personnel.
Course Overview:
The course consists of 4 weeks of instruction in free fall parachuting equipment and techniques. Jump progression, learning objectives, and passing standards provided to the trainee by instructor cadre outlines the sequence of jumps, the flow of each jump evolution, and passing standards. NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE ADVANCED TRAINING COMMAND
Site Consideration:
There are several limiting factors that can hamper the progress of this course, thus there are three weather days built into the course to cover any of the following factors from preventing the course completion:
Normal altitude for training is 12,500 ft. - due to airport traffic at Lindberg the Controller can limit the altitude of the planes at Otay to 10,500 ft. or less. When limited to 9,000 ft. cannot conduct flights.
The Fire Department can shut down the field at Otay for Life Flight.
Winds from the East over 7 MPH can keep the planes grounded due to down wind take-off.
Rain will cancel take-off of planes.
Clouds - No Free Fall operations through clouds, must have two miles of separation
Marine Layer over Lindberg grounds planes by Controller direction.
Injuries - Parachute Operations stop until EMT removes student from field
