WORK DESCRIPTION
FOR
SYSTEM ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT PLAN
12 JUL 2011
(Contract Number FA8750-12-R-0002/ Order 0001)
4.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.
4.1 The contractor shall accomplish the following:
4.1.1 Develop a System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) describing the proposed efforts for planning, controlling and conducting activities under ACT. (See CDRL, A001)
4.1.1.1 Provide the following content in the introductory section of the SEMP:
· Cover/title page.
· Document history.
· Table of contents.
· An executive summary of the document’s content.
4.1.1.2 Provide a systems engineering section that conveys a description of the contractor’s system engineering process as it will be applied to system design and test requirements during the ACT effort.
4.1.1.2.1 Address the following criteria within the systems engineering section defined in 4.1.1.2:
· Organization of the Contractor development team, along with their physical location and facilities needs.
· Technical environments for the Project and how they will be managed. This section will also discuss the interaction with the pre-production and production environments.
· Description of the evaluation and decision-making process to be used by the Contractor when resolving technical questions.
4.1.1.2.2 Define a system engineering methodology within the systems engineering section defined in 4.1.1.2 that addresses the following:
· Configuration Management: Include a description of how Project configuration items (e.g. source code) will be managed.
· Requirements Verification and Validation: Include a description of how the Use Cases will be clarified and expanded, requirements validated, and updated requirements reviewed and approved by the government.
· The Architecture and Design Process including how issues will be discussed and resolved.
· The software development methodology (for iterative builds and incremental releases).
· The hardware development methodology (for iterative builds and incremental releases).
· The build management process used to create and manage builds.
· The testing process to be used by the Contractor.
4.1.1.2.3 Where sections in the SEMP require information to be conveyed that was previously provided as part of the performers overall ACT proposal, reference the section and page number of the ACT proposal to keep redundancies between documents to a minimum.
