1. GENERAL SCOPE

This appendix establishes the minimum performance, design, fabrication, installation, and test requirements for support equipment at Grissom ARB, Building 209. The work shall be completed in accordance with this appendix, the Cover Purchase Description (PD), and Air Force (AF) Drawing VGR301-01. This appendix covers all equipment, materials, and labor necessary to complete installation of the system.

2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

Applicable documents shall be in accordance with Section 2 of the Cover PD.

3. REQUIREMENTS

3.1. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Support equipment shall be provided as part of turn-key storage aid system.

3.2. CHARACTERISTICS

Support equipment shall conform to the following requirements.

3.2.1. CONFIGURATION REQUIREMENTS

Support equipment shall be located and configured as shown on AF Drawing VGR301- 01 or as outlined below.

3.2.2. STRUCTURE AND INSTALLATION

• Stack Racks o (300) Stack racks shall be delivered to Building 209, exact location to be determined during installation.

o (200) 48”W x 48”D x 48”H o (100) 48”W x 48”D x 36”H o Minimum load capacity of 4,000 pounds o Capable of being stacked 6 high

• Pallet Jacks o (10) Manual pallet jacks shall be delivered to Building 209.

o Minimum load capacity of 5,500 pounds o Minimum fork length of 42”

• Spill Containment Pallets o (6) Spill containment pallets shall be delivered to Building 209 o 49”L x 49”W x 11”D o Minimum load capacity of 6,000 pounds o Minimum sump capacity of 73 gallons

• ESD Workstations o (1) ESD workstation shall be delivered to Building 209; exact location to be determined during installation.

o 96”L x 30”W ESD top o Supported by (1) steel leg and (1) Modular Cabinet Pedestal (29-inch wide) with 5 drawers o 45”H providing a countertop height worksurface

• Rolling Ladders o (3) Rolling ladders shall be delivered to Building 209 o 7-step (70” platform) o Minimum weight capacity: 450 pounds o Minimum 20-inch deep top step o Lock-out bar prevents movement of ladder when in use

• Packing Table o (2) Packing tables shall be delivered to Building 209, exact location to be determined during installation o Nominal dimensions: 96”L x 36”W, 30-37” adjustable height o Minimum weight capacity: 500 pounds o Solid wood worksurface

• Jumbo Packing Table o (1) Jumbo packing table shall be delivered to Building 209, exact location to be determined during installation o Nominal dimensions: 144”L x 48”W, 30-37” adjustable height o Minimum weight capacity: 500 pounds o Solid wood worksurface o (4) drawers (24”L x 15”W x 16.5”H) shall be mounted to the underside of packing table (2 per side)

• Mobile Cart o (1) Mobile cart/receiving cart shall be delivered to Building 209 o Nominal dimensions: 31”L x 27”W x 44”H o Minimum weight capacity: 500 pounds o Acrylic worksurface o Non-marking caster wheels o (3) Exterior shelves nominal dimensions 25” x 10” o (3) Interior shelves nominal 27” x 7” behind locking cabinet

• Mobile Workstation o (2) Mobile workstation/bin utility carts shall be delivered to Building 209 o Nominal dimensions: 42”L x 24”W x 35”H o Minimum weight capacity: 400 pounds o Worksurface with convertible top

• Tri-Wall Container o (20) Tri-wall containers shall be delivered to Building 209 o Nominal dimensions: 48”L x 48”W x 45”H o Mininum weight capacity: 3,500 pounds o Capable of being stacked 4 high

• Plastic Storage Bins (REV 1) o Three sizes of plastic storage bins shall be provided to interface with the bin shelving specified in Appendix C.

o All bins shall be yellow o Quantities, and dimensions, and example part number (or equivalent) as shown below:

• Column Protectors o (20) Column protectors shall be delivered and installed around all exposed building columns (9” x 9”) as shown on AF Drawing VGR301-01 o Nominal dimensions: 26” diameter, 42”H o Heavy duty plastic capable of fully surrounding columns and shielding from vehicle impacts o Secured by hook and loop straps allow for easy install/removal

• Forklift Guard Barrier o Forklift guard barriers shall be installed in Building 209 to facilitate the storage of bulk and oversized loads. Exact location and configuration of guard barriers to be determined at time of installation o (10) 10’ sections of rail shall be provided, with no shared rail posts between sections.

o Rails capable of being removed for temporary access o Posts shall be 42”H o Minimum 5,000 pound impact rating at 4mph

• Bollards o Minimum 5”W by 5”D x 42”H and 3/16” tick steel with a welded base plate.

The top of each bollard shall be enclosed/covered o Anchored in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation procedures

4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS

4.1. INSPECTION

The support equipment shall be inspected to verify that it meets all the requirements of sections 1, 2, and 3 of this appendix and the Cover PD. These inspections shall be completed as part of the system checkout test and again as a part of the quality conformance test.

4.2. TESTS

The following tests shall be performed on the system as part of the system checkout test and again as a part of the quality conformance test.
