SAFETY SUMMARY
The following are general safety precautions and instructions that personnel must understand and apply during many phases of operation and maintenance to ensure personal safety and health and the protection of Air Force property. Portions of this summary may be repeated elsewhere in this publication for emphasis.
OBSERVE WARNING AND CAUTION STATEMENTS
WARNING and CAUTION statements have been strategically placed throughout this manual to emphasize certain steps or procedures for the protection of personnel (WARNING) or possibility of equipment and property damage (CAUTION). A WARNING or CAUTION, once provided, will apply each time the related task is performed, regardless of the number of times the step is repeated throughout the manual. Prior to starting any task, review and understand the WARNINGS and CAUTIONS included in this manual for that task.
KEEP AWAY FROM LIVE CIRCUITS
Operating personnel must observe all safety regulations at all times. Do not replace components inside the equipment with voltage supply turned on. Under certain conditions, dangerous potentials may exist when power control is in the OFF position due to charges retained by capacitors. To avoid injuries, always remove power from discharge and ground circuits before touching. Adhere to all lock-out/tag-out requirements.
DO NOT WEAR JEWELRY
Remove rings, watches, and other metallic objects which may cause shock or bum hazards. Snagged finger rings have caused many serious injuries. Remove finger rings during all periods of maintenance.
DO NOT SERVICE OR ADJUST ALONE
Do not attempt internal service or adjustment with power applied unless another person capable of rendering aid and resuscitation is present. Personnel working with or near dangerous voltage shall be trained in modem methods of resuscitation. Information and training courses may be obtained from the director of base medical services.
GIVE CLEANERS/CHEMICALS SPECIAL CARE
Keep cleaners in approved safety containers and in minimum quantities. Some cleaners/chemicals may have an effect on iikin, eyes, and respiratory tract. Observe manufacturer’s WARNING label and current safety directives. Use only in authorized areas. Discard soiled cleaning cloths into safety cans.

TO 13B-M9-1
OBSERVE PRESSURE SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Pressure system safety precautions apply to all ranges of pressure. Care must be taken during testing to ensure that all test connections are proper and tight prior to applying pressure to the test setup; all system components must be compatible with pressure applied. Use of compressed air can create an environment of propellent foreign particles. Air pressure shall be reduced to less than 30 psi and used with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment.
WEAR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Wear protective clothing/equipment (gloves, apron, eye protection, etc.) approved for the; materials, procedures, and tools being used. Contact supervisor for guidance. If necessary, the bioenvironmental engineer of the base safety office should be contacted for guidance.

Weight 90 pounds (empty) The model 1435B-1 oven is a double-door, double-cavity Height 20.25 inches unit with integral oven temperature and heat-sensing control. Width 25 inches Each oven door is secured by a primary latch located in the Depth 23.25 inches oven door and a lever-type secondary latch that fits over a Power 200 Vac, 3-phase, 4-wire, 400 Hz, bracket on the front, between the two oven doors. The 2350 watts per cavity secondary latch provides additional security against the oven door’s being accidentally opened while the oven is in operation. A spring has been added to the door hinge to hold the doors in the open position when access to the oven /-\ is desired. Each oven cavity contains six heating elements, ,,--^^ <^"^’-\ a blower for even heat circulation, a temperature sensor, ^^ ^’-^and an overheat thermostat. The switch can be ^^\_ ’\^’ set for temperatures of 180, 250, or 350 F. A 0 to 60-minute timer is also provided. The timer turns the power on and off. An audible signal is also provided when the Figure 1-1. Oven Model 1435-B-l timer clicks off. The oven doors are equipped with a spring in the hinge to assure that the doors do not swing closed when removing hot meals. Force is required to close the doors. Each door is provided with a primary and a secondary latch to prevent the doors from being accidentally opened during operation.
