About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) document containing twenty questions and responses regarding an Access Control System (ACS) maintenance contract for Building 228.
The project involves maintaining an existing six-year-old ACS with a Honeywell-manufactured Intrusion Detection System (IDS). Key facility characteristics include stable power supported by backup generators, dropped ceilings in all installation areas, perimeter walls constructed of block and brick, and metal door frames filled with concrete. Pre-existing cable infrastructure is in place and can be reused; no new conduit, wiring, or wall drilling is required. The facility has no pipe chases between floors. Four government-furnished laptops will support the system upgrade, though their specific manufacturer and model are to be determined based on current availability. Exterior cameras are mounted at 18 feet. This is classified as a maintenance contract for the existing system with no new equipment scheduled for installation and zero feet of new wire required. The government will not provide after-hours access at no additional cost. Complete specifications for IDS items (motion sensors, glass breaks), cipher locks, and existing sensor door locations are detailed in the associated Performance Work Statement (PWS) and equipment list. "Or Equal" equipment substitutions are permissible. An existing UPS is already in place and does not require replacement.
