REVISION NO. 1
TO
PROJECT UHHZ 130375
Cnst/Inst Maint Platform RAC 2, Acft Cor Con, B/38
Revision No. 1 consists of the following line items:
Item No. 1: SOW Revisions:
1. Plate S100, An existing ladder exists at the alcove (east) end of the of the duct sock chase and extends the full height of the chase. Ladder needs to be modified or replaced to meet OSHA requirements for configuration and fall protection devices. This also includes a ladder cage for sections 24 ft. or more above the bottom level. Affix an inspection tag to the ladder when work is completed. Ladder requirements shall also meet specifications for new ladders as per drawings and specifications.
2. Plate S100, Provide aluminum floor access hatch at each platform level as required to protect opening per OSHA requirements. Hatch shall pre-manufactured hinged unit with checkered plate top, rated to minimum 300 psf., have hold opens and have gas struts to assist opening/closing. Hatch shall be operable from both sides and shall not be lockable. Hatch shall allow for 30”x30” opening (adjust framing as required). Basis of design – Acudor or equal.
3. Plate E100, Provide Class 1, Div. 1 exit sign at each level and in mechanical room. Signs shall be LED with battery backup. Basis of design – Larson Electronics or equal.
4. Plate E100, At new ladders, change safety chains across openings to gates similar to Detail 3/S503. Also protect adjacent electrical conduit, boxes, etc. from being accidentally grasped with minimum 20 ga. continuous metal guards the full height of the ladder sections, both sides.
Guards shall have hemmed vertical edges to prevent injury if brushed against and shall extend at least 12 inches beyond the sides of the ladders.
5. At Detail 3/A503, add bottom rail to gate to act as a toe guard when gate is closed.
6. All railings shall have minimum 4” high toe guards.
7. Plate S100, change platform at west end on all 3 levels to extend to existing wall with necessary grating, beams and columns (delete note “Edge of new platform match existing steel angle all 3 new levels”). Purpose is to prevent multistory falls should one occur with a ladder next to railing.
8. Plate E100, All new electrical within the plenum shall be rated Class 1, Division 1 per NEC.

9. Protect all penetrations through the existing fire rated wall as required to maintain 1 Hr fire rating of wall. All penetrations shall require UL ratings and shall be so designated during shop drawing submittal. Utilize UL approved sleeved methods wherever possible.
