About this file
This document contains responses to questions regarding a federal construction project and details of a related solicitation for an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity construction contract. The responses provide dimensions and specifications for modifications to an existing facility, clarifying that painting is only required for new structures and galvanizing is only required for grating. The solicitation seeks a small business contractor to provide design-build and design-bid-build construction services for maintenance, repair, alteration and new construction projects at Robins Air Force Base. The estimated value of the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is $95 million over five years. Individual task orders will typically range from $250,000 to $3 million. The solicitation requires bidders to be registered in the System for Award Management and be a U.S.-owned small disadvantaged veteran-owned small business. Successful offerors must be prepared to provide bid bonds up to $3.8 million and performance/payment bonds for task orders over $35,000. The response date is not specified.

1. Reference Drawing Sheet S102 Detail 3 TYP Platform Detail. Does the L3x2x1/4 (TYP) go all the way down the C6x10.5 (TYP) – See S103 & S104
Answer: (6”. See 1/S501)
2. Can you give me the actual length and width of the New Platform?
Answer: It is approximately 14’x58’. After discussing with the designer, the exact dimension was not provided because everything is tied to an existing condition….i.e. the girt locations, the x-bracing locations and elevations, etc. See notes on sheet S103.
3. What is the height of the Level 3 Platform to the ceiling?
Answer: This dimension depends on what you define as ceiling. See as-built drawing A-4. The available as-built drawings will be posted to FBO. There is at least 25 feet from the level 3 platform to the ceiling.
4. Reference Drawing Sheet S102 – What is the square feet of the Ba & Blast Bay walls that are to be painted?
Answer: No painting is required. See 4/S501. The contractor will open up the blast bay wall in order to install the column, and the wall has to be repaired but it will not need to be painted.
5. Reference Drawing Sheet S100 – What drawing sheet and detail shows the stairs with pipe railing?
Answer: 2/S502. It is part of the overall ladder detail.
6. Page E100 of the drawings show electrical work requirements; however, no specifications were provided for Division 26. Please provide if available.
Answer: Specifications are not available.
7. Please provide As-Built Drawings for the existing structure.
Answer: As-builts have been sent to PZIOC for distribution to potential contractors along with these responses.
8. Please confirm/clarify painting system for the new platforms.
Answer: Shop primer only for structural steel
9. Please confirm that the only steel that needs to be galvanized is the grating. The coating schedule is not clear about the remaining steel.
Answer: Confirmed, only the grating is galvanized.
