Question # Contractor Question Government Response
How do we handle the open ends of the concrete vault? Do we use steel plates to enclose them?
The ends of the vault shall remain open and the Government Civil Engineering shop will tie the ends into the existing vault when they run new steam/condensate lines.
Will there be any underground utility conflicts with the concrete vault being over six foot in the ground?
The Government does not anticipate any conflict with underground utilities. The existing steam and condensate lines that will be housed in the concrete vault will need to be operational during the vault installation. In accordance with Seed SOW
Paragraph 1.7, the Government will coordinate the Excavation Permit and utility staking. If there are any conflicts with underground utilities, the Government will perform the work in house.
