SECTION 01 14 00
WORK RESTRICTIONS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 PROJECT SPECIFIC WORK RESTRICTIONS
1.1.1 All Contractor work at job site shall be performed between 4:30 pm and 4:00 am Monday thru
Saturday.
1.1.2 Contractor shall submit Coordination Drawings (AUTOCAD 2007, pdf and hard copy) for approval. Coordination Drawings shall show relationship of catwalk system with revised mechanical systems.
1.1.2 All Contractor submittals shall have been reviewed and approved prior to start of work at job site.
Due to limited to storage space around the perimeter of Building 238, materials shall not be delivered to the job site sooner than seven (7) days prior to when they are scheduled (in accordance with approved schedule) to be installed.
1.1.3. The Contractor shall conduct operations so as to cause no interference with normal operations within Building 238. All Contractor personnel, materials, tools, equipment, and debris shall be removed from building prior to the end of Contractor’s work shift at job site (i.e., prior to 4:00 am). Contractor shall be assigned by COR a 10’ x 30’ section of “Main Street” (at ground level at north end of attic work area) as staging area for materials, personnel and equipment during job site work shift. Contractor shall not block any egress doors during their work shift at the job site. A Contractor office/personnel trailer will not be allowed for this project. Contractor will be allowed to have one trailer or Conex for storage of Contractor tools and equipment only (no larger than 10’ x 20’ plan dimensions) in the vicinity of Bldg 238. A specific location for the trailer/Conex will be assigned by the Contracting Officer.
1.1.4 Contractor shall provide protection for existing wall mural located on south wall of “Main Street” when working in the vicinity.
1.1.5 Contractor’s access to attic work area shall be limited to the following:
a. From Mezzanine Level: two existing ceiling access doors on mezzanine level provide direct access to the two existing HVAC platforms.
b. From Ground Level: Attic space is open on north side and can be accessed from ground level “Main Street.”
1.1.6 Construction loads (personnel and material) in attic shall be limited. Refer to Sheet S001 for limitations. The existing suspended ceiling system has no structural load carrying capacity.
1.1.7 All contractor personnel shall use personal fall arrest systems in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.66
Appendix C, 29 CRF 1926.501, 29 CFR 1910.67, 29 CFR 1926.453 and AFOSH STD 91-501 Chapter 13 when using powered platforms, manlifts, vehicle mounted platforms, and when working in the attic.
1.1.8 Contractor shall submit a Safety Plan for approval prior to start of work. Safety Plan shall as a minimum address the following concerns:
a. Fall arrest system(s)
b. Powered equipment
c. Paint and Coatings; refer to Section 09 90 00.00 40 paragraph General
d. Extent of field welding and protection of combustible surfaces proposed
