About this file
This file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for federal contract WWYK170123 B201 Roof Repair, addressing clarifications on the Statement of Work (SOW) and project requirements. The document contains 20 numbered questions with government responses, addressing design requirements, material specifications, construction methods, and site logistics.
Key technical requirements clarified include: roof projects require 35% design level with delegated design packages (structural analysis, shop drawings, roof drainage plan, and walk pad layout) to be completed by a licensed Professional Engineer with engineered stamps; all wood blocking must be removed and replaced regardless of condition; a tapered roof system is required; scuppers will be reinstalled as the secondary drainage system with overflow drains eliminated; and existing doors leading to the roof must be removed and replaced with 6-foot hollow metal doors featuring 8-inch minimum threshold heights. Additional scope includes abatement services limited to roof vents containing lead, and contractors must verify no deck replacement is required. Site access requires special badging for secure building areas, and contractors requesting more than 10 parking spaces for laydown, storage, and facilities must submit staging requests and parking lot outage forms. As-built drawings and coring samples are available via secure DoD links, with General and Technical Specifications provided in Appendix B. The government clarified that through-wall scuppers are acceptable alternatives to the originally specified Wade Model 3271, and corrected drawing references that contained typographical errors in the original SOW Appendix A.
