Question 9:
To position the condensers and the new HVAC machines on the roof, a crane must be used. Will it be your responsibility to request the necessary authorizations at the base, or will it be charged to the contractor?
It will be the responsibility of the contractor to schedule and coordinate with the Base for permission to bring the crane onto the site as needed to replace equipment on the roof
Question 10:
Will the deca decor above the multideck chill and frozen cabinets be changed in its entirety or should it be restored only with metal sheets?
The existing decor will not be changed. The contractor is to remove the existing vertical gypsum board above the cabinets and replace as indicated in the documents
Question 11:
Will the contractor have to restore the entire damaged false ceiling, or only in correspondence with the works?
Contractor will replace damamged tiles as outlined in Specifications.
Question 12:
Is there further information available relating to the existing asbestos register? We are currently engaging with specialists and they are all currently requesting more information or possible site access. If there is a register then we could perhaps pass this on to gain a proposal from them.
DIO maintains the asbestos register so they would provide additional information. Based on what little data was available during the design phase the DeCA design contractors hired a local UK firm to conduct a limited asbestos survey and report. These findings were included in the design documents. It may be possible to provide a copy of the original report. Areas impacted by this requirement were all included in the survey.
Question 13:
We are assuming all existing equipment that is to be replaced is to be removed from site to scrap.
Please advise if this is not to be the case.
The only exception are that all of the Resource Data Management (RDM) brand RMCS components (case & pack controllers, Desktop PC, IPC's, network switches, etc. includes power supplies) which are to be removed for reuse by DeCA. DeCA will identify these items prior to the start of the contract. These are to be removed during each phase and given to DeCA store staff for temporary storage.
All other items are scrap to be disposed of as outlined in the solicitation and design documents.
