About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) memorandum from the Department of the Air Force's 374th Airlift Wing regarding a Request for Quote (RFQ) for C-130 Maintenance Stands at Yokota Air Base, Japan. The RFQ number is FA520925Q0063, and the document addresses a specific technical inquiry about maintenance stand height requirements for the aircraft's Nose and Flight Deck (Zone D). The key technical question relates to whether the proposed maintenance stand height of 81" + 15" is sufficient to clear the aircraft's radome when the aircraft is jacked, to which the contracting officer responded that this height will not be adequate, as the top of the radome is approximately 145" from the ground when the aircraft is jacked and the radome is open.
The memorandum is dated September 18, 2025, and provides contact information for follow-up questions, specifically listing Miya Nemoto and the Contracting Officer, Benjamin Warren, who can be reached at 042-552-3011. The document is marked as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and is addressed to all prospective quoters, indicating that this Q&A is part of the solicitation process for potential vendors interested in providing maintenance stands for the C-130 aircraft at the specified Air Force base in Japan.

MEMORANDUM FOR ALL PROSPECTIVE QUOTERS
SUBJECT: Question and Answer (Q&A) for C-130 Maintenance Stands for Yokota Air Base, Japan
Reference: Request for Quote (RFQ) Number FA520925Q0063
1. We received the question below from a prospective quoter for the referenced RFQ and hereby provide the response below.
No. Question Response
1 Referring to 1.2.4.1 – Based on the dimensions of the aircraft provided; to clear the radome, the Nose and Flight Deck (Zone D) needs to be minimum 125" un-jacked, with 20" adjustment consistent with the remainder of the dock. Is the requested height of 81" + 15" enough to clear the radome in the jacked configuration?
81” + 15” will not be enough to clear the radome with the aircraft jacked. With the aircraft jacked and the radome open, the top of the radome is approximately 145” from the ground.
2. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Miya Nemoto (Ms.) or the undersigned at 042-552-3011.
