SUBJECT: Solicitation Questions and Answers
1. Are there existing taps or provisions on the elevated water storage tanks for installation of instrumentation to measure level and provide overflow/overfill protection? (Please include any available drawings or photos of tank nozzles/penetrations.)
Answer: No existing taps that are above ground level.
2. How are the high and low tank levels currently monitored at the elevated tanks? (e.g., DP level, float switch, pressure sensor, etc.) (Is there existing instrumentation for overflow/overfill protection?)
Answer: B925 Pressure level is determined
3. For low water level measurement at storage tanks, what technology and physical tap location is currently used?
Answer: Differential Pressure sensor
4. Is it acceptable to use differential pressure (DP) measurement (with the high side at tank bottom and low side vented to atmosphere) for high-level detection and overflow protection, or is instrumentation at the tank top required?
Answer: See SOW page 4. DP can be used for high level detection. It cannot be used for overflow.
5. Is a new local HMI required at each site (Wells 3, 4, 5, 6, and the Base Tower)? (Please clarify if HMI graphics/displays are required at every well and the base tower.)
Answer: Please see SOW. Page 4 Under the Programming section.
6. Can the existing structural supports at each well and the base tower be reused for mounting new VFDs and control panels, or must new supports be installed?
Answer: No. Install new structural supports.
