Repair High Temperature Hot Water System Requirements Contract
Question #Questions and AnswersAmendment #
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) PANEL P5 ON PLATE ME0.3 DOESN’T APPEAR ON THE PLAN PAGES AND THE PUMP STATIONS ON IT (SPC-280, SPC-295, & SPC-29) DON’T APPEAR ANYWHERE ON THE PLANS. IS IT JUST AN EXAMPLE? IS IT EXISTING? IS IT PART OF THIS SCOPE? IF SO, IN WHAT CAPACITY?Disregard this panel reference.1
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) THE ELECTRICAL SITE PLAN PAGE AREA I (PLATE ME1.2) AND WORK SCHEDULE (PLATE ME0.4) SHOW A DIFFERENT POWER FEED ORIGIN FOR PUMP STATION SPC-1082. WHICH IS CORRECT?Power should be fed from P-G8 panel. An updated sheet is provided.1
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) SPC-28, SPC-13, & SPC-1250 AREN’T ON THE WORK SCHEDULE BUT ARE CALLED OUT IN THE SHEET NOTES TO REMOVE EX & INSTALL NEW. IS THIS CORRECT? WILL THE SCHEDULE BE UPDATED WITH THEIR INFO?These are not referenced as they will tie into existing circuit already present.1
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) Manhole #30 is shown on C1.2, manhole schedule, but doesn’t show up on the drawings anywhere. Is MH-30 part of this project?MH-30 is not part of the project, please disregard this reference on C1.2. An amended sheet has been provided.1
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) Manhole #6 and Manhole #30 are the only details on M17.4 not crossed out. Manhole #6 is crossed out on C1.2 however. Is #6 part of this project? The only MH being worked on in this project is MH-23. I made a mistake, M17.4 is incorrect, an amended sheet has been provided.1
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) There is no detail for Manhole #23 on M17.4, should there be?Amended sheet provided.1
For the Volume 1 – Past Performance, we are to submit Attachment 8 for 5 projects 7 days prior to proposal due date. Are we to include copies of what we submit 7 days prior in Volume 1 of the hard copy and electronic copy with our proposal? If not, what are we to include in Volume 1 of the hard copy proposal? Would you like a short specific write up on each past performance project? For the hard copy please provide the same thing that was submitted as the electronic copy (PPQ form section 1-3) as this will give us the description of each past performance project.1
Does each subcontractor get 5 past performance projects as well? If not, how do we deal with multiple subs bidding and the 5-project limit?Only 5 past performance projects will be considered for each Prime Contractor proposal. Please submit the best 5 past performance projects that show recency and relevancy.1
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) SHEET NOTES 5, 6, 10, 11, & 14, PLATE ME1.3 ALL CALL FOR SPECIFIC WORK ITEMS. HOWEVER, THE NOTE ANNOTATION DOESN’T SHOW ON THE PLAN PAGE. WE BELIEVE THIS MAY BE WORK ALREADY PERFORMED IN A PREVIOUS CONTRACT. CAN WE GET CLARIFICATION/CONFIRMATION IF THIS WORK IS STILL NEEDED? IF SO, WHERE ARE THESE NOTES APPLICABLE?If the notes are not referenced in the site plans, disregard.1
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) On detail 1/ME1.3, it call to cut and patch asphalt at the parking lot entrance. Can this be bored instead, or are they wanting the asphalt replaced? Please bid to excavate and replace asphalt (install as drawings currently show).2
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) The drawings reference drawings M10.5 and M10.1, but they are not included in the plan set. These were mistakes on the drawings. References have been updated, and amended drawing provided. Also note general note on foundation blocks at bottom of page is revised.2
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) Note 1 on M5.1 seems to have the last sentence cut off.Yes, it did get cut off. Last sentence should read: "CUT EXTERIOR PIPE FLUSH TO FOUNDATION WALL AND GROUT CLOSED."2
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) Detail 1 – “Above Grade Pipe Entrance into Building” shows the pipe running up the building and then entering the building. What is the distance from the ground to the entrance point? For bidding purposes, use 3' above grade, to centerline of HTHW Service line piping entrance through the wall. There has to be a protective sleeve installed, so there needs to be enough room to weld if.2
(HTHW SERVICE LINES) Note 2 on M5.1 states the distance from the wall penetration to the isolation valves is 25 feet. Is the 25 feet a horizontal distance inside the building, or is it 25’ vertical to go up to second floor? This goes along with question #3 above.Plan to go mostly vertical with piping. Because existing piping comes through floor, it currently has a fairly straight vertical run parallel with the interior wall, routes through second floor, and then runs over to the HX. The new entrance is above grade, so you wil have a set of elbows to transition to vertical, and then some elbows and pipe routings to tie into the existing system.2
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) Clarifications: For original question: "SPC-28, SPC-13, & SPC-1250 AREN’T ON THE WORK SCHEDULE BUT ARE CALLED OUT IN THE SHEET NOTES TO REMOVE EX & INSTALL NEW. IS THIS CORRECT? WILL THE SCHEDULE BE UPDATED WITH THEIR INFO?" and response: "These are not referenced as they will tie into existing circuit already present." Disregard this question/response earlier in bidding. Reference new changes referenced in next column:1) SPC-28: Disregard this system at the MH. Amended drawings are provided with SPC-28 removed, but circuit for SPC-28 is partially installed. 2) SPC-13 & MH-13: Amended drawing has been provided. SPC-13 has been removed. The new feed to 1250 will be ran out of a flush mount junction box with wiring in place labeled: "FOR FUTURE USE FOR SPC-1250". Tie new circuit to SPC-1250 into these wires/circuit, route through boxes as shown on drawings, and then on to the SPC-1250. ME0.4 has been updated to add SPC-1250.2
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) ME0.4 changes:1) MH-VS1250 has been added to schedule. 2) MH/VS-1305 had controller ID listed as SPC-1154. SPC-1154 has been changed to SPC-1305.2
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) ME1.2 changes:1) Specifi sheet note 3 has been updated to clearly indicated both controller and pump/pump system in MH are to be replaced. The intent of the project is to replace all controllers, sump pumps, and any other incidentals - the whole system in its entirety. 2) MH/SPC-28 has been removed. Circuit for future system is still installed to the location adjacent the work being completed at SPC-1082. 3) Note 23 revised. 4) Note 24 added.2
(HTHW SUMP PUMPS) ME1.3 changes:1) SPC-13 reference has been removed. 2) Specific note #9 revised. 3) Specific sheet note #3 revised.2
Can you please confirm that we do not need to use "sheet 2" of the Bid scheduleYou do not need to use "Sheet 2" of the bid schedule, it has been removed and revised bid schedule attached.2
In the award of this contract, will both task orders (Repair HTHW Sump Pump & Repair Service Lines, Bldg 1464) be awarded together or is there the possibility that only one or the other gets awarded? The RPR HTHW Sump Pump will be awarded as one task order and the RPR Service Lines, Bldg. 1464 will be awarded as one task order. Depending on pricing there is a possiblity that only one or the other gets awarded.3
For the proposal, do you want all 3 volumes on a single CD or do you want a single CD for each volume? All volumes on a single CD3
In the amendment it looks like the Contract amount was changed to $2M, is that correct? The amendment only changed the maximum amount for the task order value. The max amount for the 5 year contract is $4,999,999.99, in which task order(s) will range from $5,000.00 - $2,000,000.00.3
