About this file
This document is a Vendor Questions & Answers file for a Vertical Transportation Equipment (VTE) Elevator Maintenance Services contract at Whiteman Air Force Base. The document addresses four key vendor inquiries, including confirmation of the current incumbent (Minnesota Elevator Inc. with a contract value of $172,164.00), clarification on state inspection requirements (no state inspector required), status of a non-functioning elevator unit (located in Bldg 1230, currently under repairs but remaining part of the bid), and correction of elevator type classifications (Air Traffic Control tower elevator at Bldg 50 is a traction unit, not a hydraulic unit as previously listed). The Q&A document is part of Amendment 1 to the solicitation, which updates the Performance Work Statement (PWS) to reflect the correct elevator specifications and provides vendors with critical clarifying information about the contract requirements.

25Q1004 VTE Elevator Mx Vendor Questions & Answers
1. Could you please confirm who the current incumbent contractor is, along with the awarded price and contract number for the existing contract?
A. Minnesota Elevator Inc. $172,164.00
2. Are you required to have a state inspector inspect each facility?
A. No
3. When we were on site, we were told one of the units is currently not functional. Can you please confirm which unit this is and that it is no longer part of the bid?
A. The non-functioning unit is located at Bldg 1230. It is currently down for repairs, but it will remain as part of the bid and will be functional before the new contract begins.
4. The Air Traffic Control elevator was surveyed during the walk, this is a traction unit that does not match any of the units on the equipment list. Is this part of the bid and can you confirm the building number?
A. Correct, the elevator located at the Air Traffic Control tower (Bldg 50) is a traction unit. It was incorrectly listed as hydraulic in the PWS Appendix A equipment list. An updated PWS has been incorporated with Amendment 1 reflecting the Bldg 50 and Bldg 1230 elevators are traction units.
