DIVISION 8 - DOORS AND WINDOWS
SECTION 08700 - FINISH HARDWARE
01. SCOPE:
This section includes everything necessary for and incidental to the furnishing of all Finish
Hardware as shown on the drawings and/or specified herein.
01.1 Standards:
The following standards shall govern all work specified under this section unless specifically modified.
1. American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
2. Door and Hardware Institute (DHI)
3. Steel Door Institute
01.2 Qualifications of Manufacturer:
Products used in the work of this section shall be produced by manufacturers regularly engaged in the manufacturing of similar items and with a history of successful production acceptable to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
01.3 Qualifications of Installers:
Use adequate numbers of skilled workmen who are thoroughly trained and experienced in the necessary crafts and who are completely familiar with the specified requirements and the methods needed for the proper performance of the work in this section.
01.4 Keying Schedule:
Will be developed with building end user and SPO/COR.
02. MATERIALS:
Finish Hardware listed in this section under Finish Hardware Schedule is taken from the following catalogs, or approved equal.
1. Hager
2. Schlage
3. LCN
4. Ives

All materials used in the manufacturing of the finish hardware shall be the best of respective kind and free from imperfections and flaws. All parts of mechanisms shall be machined and accurately adjusted. Surfaces of all finished parts shall be ground smooth.
Hardware Supplier shall forward to the General Contractor and Hollow Metal Supplier and
Millwork Supplier, the templates required, also hardware locations as recommended by the Door and Hardware Institute and the American National Standards Institute, unless locations are detailed and/or specified otherwise.
All hardware shall be furnished to the General Contractor, marked for the openings shown on the drawings along with any special instructions.
Shop Drawings , schedules, descriptive and/or technical data and samples for all work under this section shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for approval as specified under Division 1 - General Requirements.

Locksets shall be keyed and master-keyed as directed by the Scott Project Office and Users to the existing Best Key System. Key will be cut by BCE Key Shop. Blanks will be provided by Contractor as per end users needs.
