About this file
This document is an Additional Questions and Answers addendum for a federal contract (FA301025R0027) titled "Repair NPS Dorms Gutters and Windows" dated 4 September 2025. The solicitation involves guter and downspout replacement at multiple NPS (National Park Service) dormitory buildings at Keesler, specifically addressing six buildings: B6950-Conner Manor, B6955-Davis Manor, B6965-Foster Manor, B7315-Smith Manor, B7320-Holbrook Manor, and B7404-Winters Manor. Two buildings (B7330-Alho Manor and B7420-Erwin Manor) are explicitly noted to have no guter or downspout work.
The Q&A addresses technical specifications including wage determinations for Sheet Metal Workers, guter material requirements (seamless sheet aluminum with .040 thickness), and finish options, with a recommendation and acceptance of Kynar 500 finish for aluminum products. Key clarifications include confirming that all guters and downspouts will be replaced at existing locations, using seamless sheet aluminum, and adhering to specific wage classifications for installation work. The document indicates drawings were provided for reference, and contractors should replace guters and downspouts precisely as they currently exist.

MAHG23-1017: Repair NPS Dorms Gutters and Windows
Additional Questions and Answers
1. Please confirm per the Wage Determination included in the bid docs, that all gutter installation and fabrication that is completed onsite will need to meet the Sheet Metal Worker classification minimum hourly pay ($30.45 + $13.88 fringe).
Yes, any gutter fabrication and installation work will be considered Sheet Metal and should be paid according to the classification on the wage determination.
2. The Specifications call for continuous and seamless sheet aluminum (.040 thickness), rolled formed, for the gutter. This is not typical for what has been installed on Keesler in the past. Please advise if 10' sheet aluminum bent to the desired profile on a metal break will be acceptable.
Provide seamless sheet aluminum gutters as currently in specifications.
3. The Specifications call for a polyester finish on the gutter and downspout materials. We typically see this as a budget option for light commercial use as it begins to fade and become chalky within a couple years after installation. We recommend specifying a Kynar 500 finish on all aluminum products.
Kynar 500 finish acceptable finish on all aluminum products. Please see Addendum 1.
4. After reviewing the plans, we were unable to find a Gutter and DS plan sheet for Buildings 7420 and 7330. Are these buildings included in the project?
