About this file
This document is an Exhibit D Certification of Insurance for the County of Sacramento, detailing insurance requirements for a contract related to Indigent Remains and Deceased Body Transport Services. The County is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide cremation, body storage, interment, and transportation services for the Coroner's Office from March 1st, 2024, through June 30th, 2027, with an option to extend the agreement for two additional one-year periods. Contractors may submit proposals for either indigent remains services or deceased body transportation services, or both, without being required to bid on all components.
The insurance requirements mandate comprehensive coverage, including general liability (with aggregate limits of $2,000,000), automobile liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit), workers' compensation, employer's liability ($1,000,000), and professional liability or errors and omissions insurance ($1,000,000 per claim). Contractors must provide certificates of insurance with specific endorsements, maintain coverage with insurers rated at least A-VII by A.M. Best, and ensure the County of Sacramento is listed as an additional insured. The document emphasizes the need for primary insurance coverage, with detailed provisions for notification of claims, subcontractor responsibilities, and maintenance of continuous insurance protection throughout the contract period.
