About this file
This Statement of Work outlines requirements for a generator replacement project at the Fermilab Fire Department in Kane County, IL. The project requires installation of a new 50KVA (40kW) 480VAC 3-phase natural gas generator with sound attenuation and associated equipment including a 100amp transfer switch, natural gas line, ground ring, and protective bollards.
Key deliverables include demolition of existing equipment, installation of the new generator system with required safety features (LOTO capability, cold weather package, event history controller), trenching and electrical work, load bank testing, and site restoration. The contractor must comply with Fermilab safety requirements including hazard analysis, daily safety briefings, and proper badging (REAL ID required). All building outages must occur during normal business hours when temperatures are above freezing and be coordinated with the POC. The provided image shows the red exterior wall of the building where the generator will be installed between parking spaces and the building.
