About this file
This is an Insurance Requirements exhibit for Volusia County, Florida's Branch Jail Air Handler-Fire Suppression System Removal, Replacement and Upgrade project. The document outlines comprehensive insurance coverage mandates that contractors and subcontractors must maintain throughout the project execution. Key coverage requirements include Workers Compensation with waiver of subrogation under Florida statutory guidelines; Commercial General Liability with occurrence basis limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, with specific sublimits for premises-operations, products and completed operations, personal and advertising injury, and fire damage; Auto Liability with a combined single limit of $1,000,000; and Excess Liability umbrella coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate on a follow-form basis. All policies must designate Volusia County as the additional insured and be primary and non-contributory to any county-held insurance. Additionally, contractors must maintain Installation Floater or Builder's Risk coverage on an all-risk basis for the project value with the county named as additional loss payee.
All insurance policies require a waiver of subrogation clause in favor of the county and must provide thirty days' written notice of cancellation to the Certificate Holder at the Volusia County Purchasing and Contracts Division, 123 W. Indiana Avenue, Room 302, DeLand, Florida 32720, attention Inga Fegley, Risk Management Division. These requirements apply uniformly to the general contractor, all subcontractors, and independent contractors involved in the project. The Auto Liability provision specifies that if the contractor lacks "Coverage Symbol 1: Any Auto," coverage shall be limited to covered autos only. Should the county be unable to be added as an additional insured on the excess liability policy, the contractor must endorse the primary policy to provide additional insured status as required.
