PROJECT #: MT PARK 2013(1)B

PROJECT NAME: Gardiner Gateway, Phase 2

Check General (G) or Technical (T)

# G T Question Answer Date

X

The Tabulation of Drainage Quantities in the plan sheets does not specify an allowable pipe material. FP‐03 602.03 specifies to furnish the same material as existing for culvert extensions. The plans show several instances where the pipe to be installed is tying into existing stub‐outs. Does section

602.03 apply for this work? If so, please clarify the allowable pipe material and the existing pipe material.

Any compatible and appropriate pipe material having the maximum specified Manning’s Roughness coefficient should be acceptable. Most of the previously installed pipe was PVC and ADS. A new pipe material should be compatible with these types.

The Tabulation of Soil Erosion Sediment Control Quantities does not match the prints.

Locations 13+08; 13+21;13+14;13+23 are not on the prints.

Location 22+56 is on the prints (sheet I.4) but not in the tabulation page.

So are there 37 locations and there is a page missing and a location not counted 33 locations?

There is not a page missing in the plans and the 4 locations (13+08; 13+21; 13+14; 13+23) that aren’t shown in the plan sheet because they are part of the existing conditions. Bid the quantity shown in the plans and final locations will be determined during construction.

Is the cost of milling or reclaiming the existing asphalt pavement and base supposed to be in Bid Item 20401‐Roadway Excavation?

Yes. The removal of pavement is included in the roadway excavation. There isn’t much asphalt remaining within the project limits.

Some of the stationing used for the Driveway Layouts in the “J” sheets does not correspond to the stationing in the summary tabulations on sheets D.5 and D.6, please clarify.

The Driveway Layouts in the “J” sheets show some of the layouts have a shaded region. It is assumed that the shaded areas are to be constructed with hot asphalt concrete pavement. Is this correct? If so, some areas noted as having an “Asphalt Tie” on sheets D.5 and D.6 do not show a shaded area in the layout on the “J” sheets. Please Clarify.

See Amendment A001 for additional clarifications 2/16/16

5 X

The work associated with Item 61501‐0100, Sidewalk Concrete (Driveway Approach with Asphalt Tie) is concrete curb and gutter, 4‐inch concrete sidewalk, and 3‐inch asphalt pavement. Please clarify that this is correct and that all the curb and gutter and some asphalt pavement associated with this item as shown in the layout on the “J” sheets is incidental and not measured for payment.

The quantity provided for this item includes areas that are both concrete and asphalt. In order to quantify the amount of asphalt in a given area the northing and easting provided in the layout information must be plotted. The layout information on sheets J.45, J.52 and E.25 is incorrect and the amount of asphalt pavement cannot be quantified. There are not enough points provided on sheet J.58 to calculate the quantity of asphalt pavement. Please either provide correct information for these areas or quantify the amount of concrete curb and gutter, 4‐inch concrete sidewalk and 3‐inch asphalt pavement associated with the work.

See Amendment A001 for additional clarifications 2/16/16

6 X

Please clarify the fence details on sheet G.6, one dimension shows a 54” standard height and the other shows a 60” standard height and both details a titled as 60” tall.

The height of the fence should be 54” in height. See Amendment A001 for further clarification.
