C04t_17 EOTW G-Z LTIRSC Lidar Volume Estimates.xlsx

This is a Lidar volume estimates spreadsheet containing forest inventory data for the End of the World G-Z Long-Term Stewardship contract in Oregon. The spreadsheet presents detailed timber volume measurements across multiple sale areas (Wooly Bully, Free Bird, Jungle Bird, Cold Fir, and Ski Bird) using 2015 and 2019 Lidar survey data. Each record includes specific operational parameters: sale area name, NEPA unit identification, logging system type (ground-based or skyline), acreage, tree frequency counts, estimated board foot volumes, and volume per acre calculations. The data spans 279 rows of inventory records covering various timber units with volumes ranging from minimal (under 1,000 board feet) to substantial (over 23 million board feet for larger tracts like Ski Bird 1A ground-based operations at 1,400 acres).

The dataset supports the Forest Service's End of the World Project, which encompasses approximately 50,000 acres on the Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest with authorization for commercial treatment on over 17,000 acres. The primary objectives include thinning overstocked stands to reduce catastrophic wildfire risk and improve stand health, while a secondary objective provides steady timber supply to local facilities. This contracting vehicle represents an unrestricted acquisition open to all responsible sources, with proposals submitted via email to the Forest Service points of contact. The Lidar volume data serves as the technical foundation for timber sale pricing, contracting volumes, and project planning under Solicitation Number 12363N26R4016.
