About this file
This is a Bid Bond template document for the City of St. Petersburg, Florida, establishing the requirements and conditions for bid security submission in response to municipal solicitations. The bid bond serves as a financial guarantee that a bidder, if awarded a contract, will execute the required written contract and furnish performance bond within ten consecutive calendar days of written notice of award, or within such longer period as agreed upon by the City. The bond amount is set at five percent of the submitted bid value. The template requires completion of bidder information, surety details, project identification, and execution by authorized representatives of both the principal and surety parties. No specific project quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidder conferences, or award dates are identified in this template document, as it is a standardized form applicable to multiple City solicitations.
The bid bond establishes that failure to comply with contract execution and performance bond requirements within the specified timeframe constitutes a breach, with the bond amount payable to the City as liquidated damages. The surety must provide evidence of current power of attorney through the corporate secretary, and the principal must attest execution through either corporate seal or two authorized witnesses. No pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or amounts are specified in this template, as the document is designed for use across various City procurement needs.
