About this file
This document is an Addendum (Addendum #1) for Bid 4097GM issued by Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) for a Steel Doors and Frames Term Contract. The addendum, dated August 8, 2024, updates several key provisions for the bid, including changing Florida statute year references from 2023 to 2024, adding new requirements for nongovernmental entities, and modifying background screening and E-Verify provisions. The addendum introduces a mandatory Human Trafficking Affidavit that nongovernmental contractors must complete, certifying they do not use coercion for labor or services as defined in Florida statutes.
The addendum includes significant updates to contractor compliance requirements, specifically expanding E-Verify and background screening protocols. Contractors must now use the U.S. Agency of Homeland Security's E-Verify system to verify employment eligibility for all new hires, and the School Board will terminate the agreement if a vendor is placed on the State of Florida Forced Labor Vendor list. The document also mandates that any personnel entering school grounds or having direct contact with students must undergo Level 2 screening requirements, with screening costs to be covered by the bidder or employee. These changes reflect updated statutory requirements and the School Board's commitment to ensuring safe and ethical labor practices in its contractual relationships.
