About this file
This document is Addendum #1 for Bid 4097GM, issued by Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) Purchasing Department for a Steel Doors and Frames Term Contract. The addendum updates several key statutory references from 2023 to 2024 and introduces new requirements, including a mandatory Human Trafficking Affidavit for nongovernmental entities executing contracts with the school district. The addendum modifies background screening requirements, E-Verify obligations, and adds a provision that the School Board will terminate the agreement if a vendor is placed on the State of Florida Forced Labor Vendor list.
The addendum specifically updates compliance requirements for contractors, mandating use of the U.S. Homeland Security's E-Verify system for employment eligibility verification, background screening for personnel entering school grounds, and certification that the contractor does not engage in labor coercion. The document includes a detailed Human Trafficking Affidavit that contractors must complete, which requires affirming that the entity does not use various forms of coercion or exploitation as defined in Florida Statute 787.06. These changes reflect the school district's commitment to ensuring ethical labor practices and protecting student and employee safety through enhanced contractor screening and verification processes.
