About this file
This document is an Attachment G - Administrator's Monthly Report for the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Services contract between the South Dakota Department of Health Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and a subrecipient. The subrecipient is responsible for managing the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program, including administrative and supervisory duties, fiscal management, and working with the Breastfeeding Coordinator. The Breastfeeding Peer Counselors provide basic breastfeeding education, support, and encouragement to WIC pregnant and/or breastfeeding mothers through various electronic and in-person interactions, with the goal of increasing breastfeeding initiation and duration.
The contract requires the subrecipient to provide fiscal management and carry out all administrative and supervisory responsibilities for the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program. The purpose of the program is to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding within the WIC program through peer counseling, support groups, special projects, and attendance at trainings and meetings.
