About this file
This document is the Attachment F - Breastfeeding Specialist Monthly Report for a contract opportunity with the South Dakota Department of Health Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program. The report details the monthly activities of the Breastfeeding Specialist, including the number of contacts with Peer Counselors (PCs), referrals from PCs, total contacts with participants, PC monitoring, PC mentoring, impact on participants, new ideas and recommendations for program improvement, training development and presentations, and meetings attended.
The related State and Local Contract Opportunity is for Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Services, which aims to manage the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program within the South Dakota WIC Program. The subrecipient will be responsible for administrative and supervisory duties, fiscal management, and working with the Breastfeeding Coordinator. The Breastfeeding Peer Counselors (BFPCs) will provide basic breastfeeding education, support, and encouragement to WIC pregnant and/or breastfeeding mothers, primarily through electronic interactions and face-to-face visits. The goal is to increase the number of WIC mothers who breastfeed and the duration of breastfeeding.
