About this file

This is a user registration guide for the Account Management and Provisioning System (AMPS), a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) application. The document provides step-by-step instructions for external users to register for AMPS accounts and obtain access to DLA and DFAS applications.

The guide outlines four user registration categories: Federal Agency User/Contractor, Supplier/Vendor, Public, and DLA Employee. Registration requirements vary by user type. Federal Agency Users and Contractors must provide supervisor and security officer information, including email addresses and contact details for approval of role requests. Vendors require a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code but do not need security officer or supervisor approval. Public users do not require cyber awareness training dates or security officer information. All non-smart card users must establish passwords meeting specific requirements (minimum 15 characters, maximum 32 characters, with mandatory inclusion of alphabetic, numeric, lowercase, uppercase, and special characters) and answer three security questions for account recovery purposes. The document details the complete registration workflow, including URL access points (https://amps.dla.mil/), privacy act statement acceptance, user information entry, security question and password configuration, account summary review, and confirmation of the new AMPS user ID upon successful registration completion.
