About this file
This is a memorandum from the 87th Air Base Wing (AMC) at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, dated 18 August 2026, designating Kitchen Exhaust Hood Cleaning contractor services as mission-essential under R-DFARS 252.237-7023, Continuation of Essential Contractor Services (October 2010). The memorandum identifies two specific categories of services that must be performed under all circumstances: (1) safe and continuous operations for preventative maintenance, repair, and certification of commercial kitchen exhaust systems in accordance with the performance work statement, and (2) parts and labor for maintenance, modifications, and repairs. The designation reflects the government's determination that failure to perform these functions would significantly impair the Department of Defense's ability to provide vital services and exercise authority, direction, and control. Questions regarding this memorandum should be directed to Mr. Anthony Whiting, Chief of Service Contracts, at anthony.whiting.3@us.af.mil or DSN 754-6780.
