Statement of Work Floorcovering
Building 112, E. McCaw St.
Joint Base Charleston, SC (Air Base)
June 2020
GENERAL: The work to be performed is the removal and installation of approximately 12,660 square feet of floorcovering and approximately 2,238 linear feet of rubber cove base. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and storage for floorcovering materials to perform removal and replacement of floorcovering.
LOCATION: Building 112, E. McCaw St., Joint Base Charleston, SC.
SCOPE OF WORK: The work includes but is not limited to the following items:
1. Contractor shall lift and relocate existing furniture and appliances to facilitate the installation of the new materials. (Section 2.2.3.3)
a. Relocate approx. 470 pieces of light furniture, 20 ea. heavy furniture and 6 furniture systems.
b. Remove approx. 12,660 sq. ft. of floorcovering.
c. Remove approx. 2,238 lf. of cove base.
2. Contractor shall prepare the floor to acceptable industry standard as per new floorcovering requirements. (Section 2.2.5 & 2.2.6)
a. Subflooring shall be in a smooth, true, level plane, except where indicated as sloped.
b. Repair holes, cracks, depressions, or rough areas using material recommended by the floorcovering or adhesive manufacturer.
c. Any necessary preparation and compliance with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
3. Contractor shall provide and install new carpet tiles in the identified areas. Samples will be provided so the customer can make selections. (Section 2.2.4)
a. Install 1,337 sq.yds. Carpet Tiles w/adhesive in 15 classrooms, hallway and office areas.
b. Install 630 sq. ft. of Luxury Vinyl Tile w/adhesive in breakroom.
c. Install approx. 2238 lf. of rubber cover base.
Applicable Instructions:
Work areas may be occupied by the using activity during the course of work.
Caution must be taken to insure all safe work practices are adhered to.
Caution shall be taken to prevent damage to the wall surfaces during removal process.
All work shall be in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, specifications, commercial practices, manufacture specifications, and industry standards.
Low VOC materials shall be used and work areas shall be well ventilated.
Contractor shall keep a clean work area daily.
