About this file

This document outlines functional requirements for active radio frequency identification (RFID) software and hardware to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) aRFID-V program. Key requirements include PC software for writing data to RFID transponders, collecting transponder data, and configuring interrogators. Handheld software is required for collecting and querying transponder data, reading barcodes, and printing labels. The software must integrate RFID, barcode, GPS and other device capabilities. Hardware driver implementations are required for both PC and handheld devices. Additionally, the solicitation provides details on the Army Contracting Command-Rock Island's upcoming aRFID-V contract, which is a follow-on to the expiring aRFID-IV contract held by Savi Technology, Inc. This pre-solicitation notice allows any responsible source to submit a capability statement for consideration, though it will be a non-competitive award made to Savi Technology.

Attachment_13 RFID-V Software Functional Requirements Version 5.0 15 June 2018 Introduction This document outlines the major functional requirements of the Active RFID software associated with DoD ISO 18000-7:2008 compliant equipment. PC software includes applications that write data to transponders over a hard-wire interface and over the air using an interrogator, applications that collect transponder data and forward it to a regional server, and applications used to set up and configure interrogators. Hand-held software includes applications to collect and query transponder data, to read bar codes, and to print shipping labels.
