About this file

This is an example FAA Welcome Letter that serves as an acceptable credential for FAA Academy transportation services. The letter demonstrates the required format and content that contractor drivers must verify when providing transportation services to FAA Academy students.

The sample letter shows a memorandum dated October 8, 2024, regarding Initial En Route Qualification Training Course 50148001-178531, running from October 8 to January 3, 2025. It includes specific reporting instructions for students to arrive at the Security Command Center Building at 7:00 a.m., class hours (07:00 to 15:30 for dayshift, 15:30 to 24:00 for evening shift), facility access information at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, and requirements for students to bring ID to obtain temporary badges. This letter format, when presented with photo ID, authorizes passenger access to contracted transportation services, with drivers required to electronically log rider information including student name, line of business, and course number for weekly submission to the FAA COR.
