About this file
This is a technical instruction document for SiRcom software that provides step-by-step guidance on creating automatic system activations using the Windows Task Scheduler interface.
The document outlines a seven-step process for scheduling automated tasks. Users begin by opening Windows Task Scheduler through the Control Panel and creating a basic task with a name and description for internal reference. The trigger configuration allows users to select activation frequency options including Daily (recurring every day at a specified time), Weekly (recurring on pre-selected days at a specified time), Monthly, One-time, When the computer starts, When a user logs on, or When a specific event is logged. For Daily tasks, users specify a start date and time with recurrence set to every 1 day. For Weekly tasks, users select specific days of the week (such as Monday through Friday) and set recurrence to every 1 week. A critical requirement is ensuring the "Enabled" checkbox is verified at the bottom of the trigger configuration. The final step involves setting the action by selecting "Start a Program" and specifying the program path as "C:\SiRcom\SiSA\SiSA.exe" with arguments typed in the exact format as programmed in the SiSA Alert interface. Arguments must include the script name and tower designation in quotes with a space between them, such as "Reveille" "ALL" to activate on all towers, or "Reveille" "1,2,3,4,5" to activate on specific towers.

Create Automatic System Activations using the Windows Task Scheduler Interface
1. Start Windows Task Scheduler:
• Click Start
• Click “Control Panel”
• Click “System and Maintenance”
• Click “Administrative Tools”
• Double-click “Task Scheduler”
2. In the Actions Pane on the right-hand side, click Create Basic Task.
3. Follow the instructions in the Create Basic Task Wizard.
• On Page 1, Type in a name and description. For example, if creating an automated script to activate morning reveille, type in “Reveille” for the name. The description is optional.
Note: This is for your internal reference only, and is not related to the SiRcom SMART Alert interface.
4. Click Next, and set “Triggers.”
• On this screen, you will set how often the scheduled task is to activate. For the ‘Reveille’ example, we choose daily.
Then click “Next.”
Daily Activate an automated script every day of the week at a specified time. On the next screen, you can set the exact time.
Weekly Activate an automated script to repeat weekly. On the next screen, you can choose one or several different days. For example, if you want to automatically activate a script on weekdays only (Mon – Fri), choose Weekly. On the next screen, you can check off “Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri” and set the exact time.
5. Scheduling a Daily Task
• A Daily Task recurs every day at a specified time.
• Select a start date (today or tomorrow) and time you want your script to activate. For ‘Reveille’, for example, choose a start date (tomorrow), and 07:00:00 Click Next. Set Recur every 1 days.
6. Scheduling a Weekly Task
• A weekly Task recurs every week on a pre-selected set of days, at a specified time.
• Select a start date (today or tomorrow) and time you want your script to activate. For ‘Reveille’, for example, choose a start date (tomorrow), and 07:00:00. Then, if you want Reveille to only run on Monday – Friday, check those days off. Set Recur to every 1 weeks.
Note: Ensure the “Enabled” button is checked at the bottom!!!
7. Set an Action
• In this section, we’ll actually tell the SiSA Alert Software what script we want to activate, and on which towers.
• Under action, select “Start a Program,” and click “Next.”
• Program/script: Click “Browse” and select “C:\SiRcom\SiSA\SiSA.exe”
• Add Arguments: Type in the EXACT script as programmed in the SiSA Alert interface.
For example, if your script name is “Reveille” and you want to activate All towers, type in “Reveille” “ALL” and INCLUDE the quotes.
Note: There is a space between the two sets of words. “Reveille”(SPACE)”ALL” as seen in the image below.
To activate “Reveille” on GV towers 1,2,3,4,5 you simply change the word “All” to “1,2,3,4,5”
C:\SiRcom\SiSA\SiSA.exe
“Reveille” “All”
