About this file
This is a Quick Reference Guide for the SiRcom SMART Alert system, a public address and mass notification platform developed by SiRcom USA, LLC. The guide is not a federal contract document but rather a user manual for operating the SiRcom software system.
The guide provides step-by-step instructions for nine core operational functions: accessing the operator screen interface with map-based unit visualization and controls; monitoring unit health status through color-coded indicators (green for operational, red for degraded, yellow for unknown); selecting units for activation via three methods (map interface, unit tree, or pre-defined zones/groups); requesting unit status and performing silent tests; activating live public address capabilities with microphone controls; streaming pre-recorded audio files from local machines; activating alarm tones; activating stored messages from unit memory; and executing pre-defined scripts and scenarios. The interface includes mapping tools (zoom, pan, center, RSSI link visualization), a dynamic status legend, an action bar with operational buttons, and view filters. Key operational features include confirmation dialogs for script execution, repeat count settings for alarms and messages, volume controls for live microphone broadcasts, and visual indicators distinguishing standard action buttons (gray when units must be selected) from "hot buttons" (dark red, pre-programmed for specific units). All alarms, stored messages, and scripts are managed by system administrators.
