About this file
This is a technical quick reference guide for field maintenance of SiRcom siren systems, an emergency mass notification solution consisting of siren control cabinets and outdoor horn units.
The guide provides comprehensive technical information for maintenance personnel, including identification and location of interior cabinet components such as the SiTouch siren controller touchscreen interface, power and audio amplifiers, solar and AC power switches, driver terminal blocks, optional LTE/SAT communication modules, and radio equipment. For exterior components, it documents the early warning siren horns, audio drivers, and mast assemblies. The guide details proper shutdown procedures requiring sequential deactivation of three power sources (AC breaker, solar breaker, and battery disconnect switch) before performing repairs. It includes operational instructions for the SiTouch controller interface, covering alarm activation, live PA functionality, and stored message playback with preset options including tornado warnings, lightning warnings, and wind speed alerts. Troubleshooting procedures are provided for amplifier faults (requiring voltage verification with multimeters and gain potentiometer adjustment) and driver faults (requiring ohm readings between 3-6Ω, with replacement specifications for SSD125 drivers). The guide also covers proper driver and horn installation techniques, including correct water drain hole orientation, connector tightening specifications using liquid thread locker, and driver cover mounting procedures. This resource is dated November 2023 and serves as operational and maintenance documentation for field technicians supporting SiRcom emergency notification systems.

1. Run “Refresh Hardware” on SiTouch Controller
2. During unit refresh, Amp lights should activate for both channels on each Amp
3. Verify Amp Status on SiTouch. If an Amp fault is reported, continue with the following troubleshooting steps:
4. Check Ribbon cable connections for proper connection
5. Remove all Driver cables from Driver Terminal Block
6. Activate Alarm 7 on the SiTouch Controller and check output AC voltage on the Driver Terminal Block with a multimeter*** (The first two sets of wires (from Left to Right) are Amp 1, followed by Amp 2, etc..
7. If the AC voltage is below 35v AC, adjust the gain potentiometer by turning it clockwise, reconnect the ribbon cables, and verify voltage readings again, repeating the process until correct
8. Refresh Hardware again on the SiTouch Controller and verify Amp status is OK for all Amps
➢ If any Amps are bad, contact your service representative for replacement parts and service
Troubleshooting Steps Troubleshooting Amp Faults
***Take extra precaution during this step as the Amp’s output voltage could cause serious bodily injury or death
1. Run “Refresh Hardware” on SiTouch Controller
2. Verify Driver Status on SiTouch. If a Driver fault is reported, continue with the following troubleshooting steps:
3. Remove all Driver cables from Driver Terminal Block
4. Using a multimeter, verify the Ohm reading of each Driver is between 3 - 6Ω. If reading is above 6Ω then that driver is bad
5. Plug all Driver cables back into the Driver Terminal Block when done taking Ohm readings
➢ If any Drivers are bad, contact your service representative for replacement parts and replace them using the instructions on next page for guidance
