About this file

This is an addendum to a construction contract issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the Well & Filtration System Replacement and Building Addition project at the MDOT Welcome Center on I-69 Northbound in Coldwater, Michigan (DTMB File No. 591/19213.CDP, MDOT Program No. 209317EPE). The addendum, dated July 23, 2020, modifies the bidding and contract documents and must be acknowledged by bidders on their bid forms. Key modifications include clarification that the drinking water capacity referenced in the advertisement requires verification in the construction documents, and the contractor must furnish two temporary storage containers measuring 20 feet by 8 feet by 8.5 feet with lockable doors, ramps, and insurance for the Owner's use during construction, remaining on site for the full duration of construction disruption. Additionally, the contractor must include all excavation, disposal, and fill work in the base bid rather than providing separate unit pricing for excavated poor soils and engineered fill. The addendum also removes the requirement to reinstate existing storage building lighting, instead specifying that new LED lighting matching the addition design must be provided.

The addendum contains multiple revisions to construction documents, including replacements of Civil Sheet C101, Plumbing Sheet P601, and Electrical Sheets E101, E102, E601, E602, E603, and E605, all dated July 23, 2020. These revisions address paving requirements, removal of a yard hydrant, preservation of a large oak tree, pressure differential devices, electrical grounding and panel modifications, exhaust fan schematic changes, and lighting fixture treatment. Additionally, Specification Section 06 74 13 regarding Fiberglass Reinforced Gratings has been deleted as the information is covered under Specification Section 06 82 00 for Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics.
